How do you define the role of a screenplay writer?
A good screenwriter works in the same way as would a musician with a musical score. Very often when a movie works well it is thanks in large part of a good script. The screenwriter in fact, has a very important role; in addition to writing the story to be turned into a movie, he has to create a structure and get a good result. It takes a lot of technique.
Sometimes one is led to believe that writing a novel and writing a screenplay is something very similar, but it does not. When I write a book, I put it in the field above all the creativity. In the screenwriter, instead, it takes a lot of planning. They are two very different ways of working.
